Transformation: by Deborah Grate Bennett My soul bleats a fountain
of tears creating the craters puddles fill flowing from the shallow waters forming a lake crystal clear exposing
gloomy images Saddened faces, tattered homes, deformed dreams Perish your wounds, rise up high Ascend the mountains,
flee the barriers Explore the opposite side Incite the waters, gaze upon the view Once lake of pain, Now elegance
of the ocean.
New Life by Deborah Grate Bennett
In the midst of the night I hear a faint
call Is it a dream or has my journey ended? Shall I answer or must I remain in silence? Darkness fills the air
- As the crickets chant a song My dreary heart thumps a beat to every chirpin’ sound Fate, Destiny - stand
by my side Walk with me through this forlorn path Shelter me from the blazin' sun A purpose - in life - is that what
I have? Yet my soul lays down, wilted, distorted Like a broken limb, hangin’ lifeless on a tree A voice high
above, sends a chill to my ears Panting, briskly and short Awake and stand firm ‘Tis a dream The journey
has not ended, It has just begun.
